Dr. Ponomarenko is a board certified general surgeon with specialty training in Surgical Oncology. Born in South Orange New Jersey, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

General Surgery Residency: Downstate, Brooklyn, NY
Surgical Oncology Fellowship: Roger Williams Medical Center, RI
Currently, he is the division chief of General Surgery and is the Cancer Liaison Physician for the cancer center at Griffin Hospital.
His surgical interests are in general surgery with particular interest in breast, laparoscopic hernia repair, gallbladder and colon surgery. He specializes thyroid and upper digestive tract cancer surgery.

| Leland J. Soto III, MD |

Dr. Soto is a board certified general surgeon. Originally from Sacramento California, he joined Surgical Associates in 2005.
Medical School: Dartmouth Medical School
General Surgery Residency: University of Minnesota
At Griffin Hospital he serves as the Director of the Surgical Physician Assistant Program and is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical Staff.
His surgical interests are in breast disease and advanced laparoscopic surgery (including hernia, Nissen fundoplication, adrenalectomy, splenectomy and colorectal). On a personal note, Dr. Soto is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
